Allopar Lock Tite-914 PVC Cement Spray (Medium Bodied, Clear)
Product Overview
Allopar Lock Tite-914 is a professional-grade, clear, medium-bodied solvent cement uniquely delivered in an innovative spray system. Formulated with a balanced medium set time, it strikes the perfect window between allowing enough time for precise joint alignment and curing quickly to keep installation workflows efficient.
this high-performance adhesive operates as a PVC Cement Spray, providing an exceptionally even, mess-free application across heavy-duty pressure systems, irrigation channels, electrical conduits, and demanding industrial processing pipelines. It ensures robust, leak-free structural bonding across a vast range of pipe schedules and diameters.
Key Features & Benefits (Why People Use It)
Innovative Spray Application: Formulated for precision delivery, allowing users to spray a thin, full, and perfectly even coat into sockets and onto pipe exteriors without messy brush dripping.
Universal Piping Capability: Engineered to bond all schedules of plastic piping, including heavy-walled Schedule 80 configurations.
Wide Size Versatility: Universally dependable for pipelines ranging from small 1/2″ diameters up to large-scale 12″ diameter pipes.
Dual System Pressure Resilience: Highly recommended for demanding pressure lines as well as cold potable water and industrial piping systems.
Diverse Infrastructure Utility: Extensively trusted across agricultural irrigation networks and structural electrical conduit routing.
Exceeds Engineering Benchmarks: Formulated to surpass strict industrial performance metrics, meeting and exceeding the ASTM D-2564 standard specification.
Extended Product Longevity: Features an advanced, chemically stable formulation that guarantees a reliable 3-year shelf life in an unopened can.
Installation Instructions & Best Practices
Preparation: Cut the pipe square using a hand saw or pipe cutter, and meticulously remove all burrs from both the inside and outside diameters.
Surface Cleansing: Clean the pipe exterior and fitting socket with Allopar Pipe Cleaner, then wipe clean with a fresh, dry cloth.
Fit Check & Priming: Verify a proper dry fit; the pipe should easily insert 1/3 of the way into the fitting socket. Apply Allopar Primer to achieve deep, rapid penetration for an optimized bond.
Cement Spraying: Shake the can thoroughly before use. Spray a thin coat of cement into the socket and a full, even coat onto the pipe surface. An appropriate size dauber or larger applicator can be used if necessary, making sure not to puddle the adhesive in the socket fitting.
Assembly & Hold: Forcefully engage the pipe into the fitting, and hold firmly for 30 seconds to allow the initial chemical bond to take hold. Wipe off all excess cement immediately.
Set & Cure Window: Wait at least 15 minutes before handling the assembled joint. Allow a full 2 hours of curing time at temperatures higher than 60°F (16°C) before testing the system to a pressure of up to 180 psi. (Note: As stated in ASTM D2855, when installing thin bell and pipe, do not apply an excess amount of cement in the bell socket).
Operational Safety & Precautions
Flammability & Hazards: DANGER: Highly flammable liquid and vapor. Keep completely clear of heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces. No smoking during handling. Please keep the container tightly closed and store out of reach of children.
Health Hazards: Causes serious eye irritation and may cause respiratory irritation. It can induce drowsiness or dizziness, and may be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and fully understood.
Limited Warranty: The manufacturer’s only obligation shall be to replace such quantities of the product proven to be defective. The user must determine the conformity of the product with its intentional use and accepts all risks and obligations; the manufacturer is not responsible for consequential damages or prejudices.
