EMS FORCE RT-38 Applications
EMS FORCE RT-38 works well for demanding mechanical retention applications where components need additional support and stability.
Shafts and Gears
Use RT-38 to secure shafts and gears in suitable cylindrical metal assemblies. The compound helps maintain a stable connection during operation.
Bearings and Impellers
RT-38 can help retain bearings and secure impellers to shafts. It also helps reduce unwanted movement or dislocation within suitable mechanical assemblies.
Pulleys and Cylindrical Fittings
The adhesive is suitable for fixing pulleys and other cylindrical metal components. Its high-strength formulation provides dependable retention in vibration-prone equipment.
Worn Mechanical Joints
RT-38 fills small gaps in worn joints, helping improve the fit between mating components. Therefore, it can support machinery repair and maintenance work where component wear has affected the original fit.
How to Apply EMS FORCE RT-38
1. Clean the Surfaces
Clean the male and female mating surfaces thoroughly. Remove cutting oil, grease, dirt and other contaminants before application.
2. Apply the Retaining Compound
Apply EMS FORCE RT-38 evenly to the required surfaces. Ensure adequate coverage of the mating area.
3. Remove Excess Adhesive
Use absorbent tissue paper to remove excess jointing compound. Wipe in a controlled manner to keep the assembly clean.
4. Assemble the Components
Fit the parts together immediately after applying the compound. Position the components correctly before the adhesive begins to cure.
5. Allow Full Curing
Leave the assembled parts undisturbed for approximately 24 hours at 22–24°C to allow the jointing compound to fully cure.
Disassembly Instructions
Use suitable hand tools to remove the mating parts when disassembly is required.
If the connection proves difficult to disassemble at room temperature, apply local heat until the joint reaches approximately 250°C. Then separate the components while hot.
After disassembly, mechanically remove any remaining cured adhesive. Finally, clean the surfaces with a suitable solvent such as acetone.
Vibration Resistance
Mechanical vibration can cause conventional connections to loosen over time. EMS FORCE RT-38 helps strengthen cylindrical mechanical assemblies and provides resistance to vibration.
As a result, it can improve the stability of suitable shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys and impeller assemblies.
