HARRIS GENUINE GRAY is described as a neutral cure elastic sealing and filling compound. It is engineered to provide excellent adhesion to both metallic and non-metallic surfaces.
Performance: It guarantees a secure seal even when fissures, cracks, and joint movements are present.
Properties: It is extraordinarily tough, extraordinarily versatile, and absolutely permanently elastic.
Common Uses: Can be used as a primary gasket, as an addition to an existing gasket, or as an external sealant.
Application Instructions
Directions for Use:
Prepare: Remove old gasket material from both surfaces.
Clean: Clean the surface with a solvent such as MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone).
Cut: Cut the nozzle to the desired size and angle. Puncture the tube.
Apply: Squeeze the tube to form a continuous and even bead along the perimeter and around bolt holes.
Tool: Tool the sealant within 5 minutes of application.
Assemble: Close to form the gasket and tighten the bolts.
Clean up: Clean off extra sealant using a cloth dampened with a solvent like MEK.
Important Notes:
Leave adequate thickness for the gasket when reassembling; do not over-tighten the bolts.
Remove excess silicone with a dry cloth or alcohol wipe.
Curing Time: Silicone dries to the touch in 1 hour and requires 24 hours to fully cure and bond. Always replace the cap after use.
Safety & Precautions
⚠️ CAUTION: UNCURED SEALANT IRRITATES EYES.
In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water and call a physician.
Avoid prolonged skin contact.
The product releases acetic acid during the curing process; use only with adequate ventilation.
