Why Use CRC Crick 130 Developer?

CRC Crick 130 Developer is a fast-evaporating developer spray designed for non-destructive testing (NDT) using the liquid penetrant inspection method. It forms the final step of the CRC Crick inspection system, working together with Crick 110 Cleaner and Crick 120 Penetrant to reveal cracks, surface defects, and structural imperfections that are difficult to detect with the naked eye. Its fine white developer coating creates a high-contrast background, allowing even the smallest flaws to become clearly visible.

The quick-drying formula produces a uniform white coating that draws penetrant from hidden defects through a blotting action. As a result, inspectors can quickly identify cracks, porosity, leaks, and surface discontinuities without damaging the test material. Furthermore, the easy-to-use aerosol eliminates the need for expensive inspection equipment, making it an economical and reliable solution for industrial quality control.

Features

  • Fast-evaporating developer for NDT inspections
  • Creates a uniform white contrast coating
  • Works with CRC Crick 110 and Crick 120 inspection system
  • Sensitive and reliable flaw detection
  • Suitable for various metals, ceramics, and engineering materials
  • Easy-to-use aerosol application
  • Economical alternative to expensive testing equipment
  • Halogen content tested according to ASME Section V, Article 6

Benefits

CRC Crick 130 improves inspection accuracy by making hidden surface defects clearly visible. In addition, its quick-drying formula speeds up inspection procedures and reduces downtime. Consequently, manufacturers can detect faults before they become critical failures. Moreover, the developer provides consistent, high-contrast results across a wide range of materials and component shapes.

Applications

CRC Crick 130 is suitable for non-destructive testing of welded joints, castings, forgings, pipelines, tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, machinery components, structural steel, ceramic parts, fabricated components, engineering equipment, and industrial assemblies. It is ideal for detecting cracks, porosity, leaks, laps, folds, lack of fusion, cavities, and fatigue defects.

How to Use

First, thoroughly clean and degrease the surface using CRC Crick 110 Cleaner. Next, apply CRC Crick 120 Penetrant evenly and allow sufficient penetration time before removing excess penetrant. Afterwards, shake CRC Crick 130 well and spray a thin, even coat from approximately 20 cm away. Allow the developer to work for at least 7 minutes until defects appear as red lines or spots against the white background. Finally, inspect the surface carefully and clean the component after testing if required.

Overall, CRC Crick 130 provides fast, accurate, and reliable flaw detection for professional non-destructive testing. Therefore, it is an essential inspection product for manufacturing, welding, maintenance, engineering, and industrial quality control.
